TUNIBOR is an average indicative interest rate at which the most active banks on the money market in dinar intend to lend each other liquidity, without guarantee for eight maturities ranging from one week to twelve months: one week, two weeks, one month, two months, three months, six months, nine months and twelve months.
Calculation of TUNIBOR :
For each maturity, the Central Bank of Tunisia processes at 11.00 a.m (exact local time) the TUNIBOR calculation as a simple arithmetic average of the lending rate reported by all contributing banks while making sure that at least half of panel banks have published their lending rates on the eight maturities before 10h45.
Worth of note that 15% of the extreme quotations, that are the highest and the lowest will be written off for each maturity.
Collection of data and dissemination of information :
Data collection and TUNIBOR calculation are carried out via Reuters’ platform at the BCT. The dissemination of information is ensured by the Central Bank of Tunisia at 11:00 a.m from Monday to Friday (except for day-offs) through Reuters’ platform at the level of “TUNIBOR” page, and Bloomberg in “CBTU” menu.
